Electrical Fire Customer: Sinclair Refinery When an electrical fire in the main control room unexpectedly shut down the Sinclair refinery outside of Rawlins, WY, Coldsweep mobilized their dry ice blasting equipment and worked with CEDA to remove the smoke damage from the electrical cabinet, switchgear, copper busses, phenolic parts and other components. The entire operation was completed in about 12 hours. Coldsweep had performed a demonstration of our technology 3 days earlier and the Maintenance crew recognized that dry ice blasting might be able to address the problem faster than any other method. The back up plan involved sandblasting and repainting the electrical cabinets, replacing many of the components with a much longer duration to restore normal operations. Coldsweeps dry ice blasting technology saved Sinclair several days if not weeks of downtime. |

Prep Pipeline for UT Wall Thickness Inspection Customer: BP Dry ice plasting is a good choice for removing coatings to inspect welds or perform UT inspections.
